Full of both experimental and unexpected and as well as traditional and treasured – Argentine Tango, rooted in early 20th century, brought to its’ admirers in Riga in spring of 2019 this time by a traditional Argentine Tango orquestra Tango Spleen (Italy) and experimental performances of four amazing, professional tango dancers from four different countries – Skirmante Gineite (Lithuania), Margita Antonova (Latvia), Andrea Dedó (Italy) and Akin Gokkaya (Turkey). Their experiment and challenge. Their unique story of Tango, spring and …love.

Argentine tango
Music, poetry and art dating back to the late 19th century in the suburbs and harbour pubs of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay), dated back to the late 19th century, began to pop up in myths and legends, at the beginning of the 20th century, starting their way in the world. Already in 1912 Argentine tango musicians and dancers performed with great success in the concert halls of the overwhelming European capitals - Paris, Berlin, London and elsewhere. In Argentina, the Tango Slavonic Road to the United States began in 1913, while in Argentina tango took its place not only in clubs but also in elegant dance halls in Argentina's top society. Since September 2009, Argentina's tango has been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage (TSE) since its launch in Paris over Europe - shows, concerts, shows, bars, cafes, restaurants and atmospheric dance halls ... Through the wars, revolutions, uprisings and crises, in the list. Today, in Europe, Asia, America ... and, of course, in Argentina, Argentina's tango continues to unite and divide, but definitely - to move, enrich and captivate us on our journey ...
